What Were You Created For?

What Were You Created For?

How much have you thought about why God created you? Hopefully for most, that has been given serious consideration. In the book of Genesis, God sums it up beautifully...

So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” (Genesis 1:27-28)

Until we get to know the Lord, many will wander through life aimlessly, wondering something like this, "What's it all about Alfie???" But the Bible made it clear from the beginning that we were all made for a purpose and calling. We are made to look like Jesus, a human, and to act like Him, and that's the supernatural part that happens when we get born again.

Each of us has unique gifts and character bents suited to bring our calling to pass. We have things that we seem to be naturally good at and other things that we can't even imagine doing. But, at the right time, when God really steps into the picture, suddenly we find ourselves being able to do things we never imagined possible.

God creates us, gifts us, and calls us. And what He has in mind can only be done by the power of Holy Spirit. I never imagined doing health insurance of all things. No! I wanted to sing and play music and dance. I was more artistic than I even knew. But God!

He had a plan for the health insurance that would eventually lead to a marketplace ministry that was beyond anything I could have imagined. It became that when the Lord put my husband and I together. Then, and only then was His great big purpose truly revealed.

That's why you see the two logos at the top. The first is our insurance logo, and the second, our ministry logo. The two would blended together beautifully, like Paul, the tent maker and his team. If it's been awhile since you thought about your true purpose in this life, or you may be somewhat on that path but have questions, take heart. God is right here to lead us to that wonderful calling that He placed on our lives.

It may not be easy, and it may take longer than we think for it all to play out, but there is a lot of time involved in the preparation process. After all, Moses didn't start until he was 80 - Joshua too. Jesus summed up the calling in this verse...

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. (Matthew 28:19-20)

This is what it is all about. The only difference between you and me is HOW God wants to use us to do it. You may be a preacher or a nurse or pilot or a health insurance broker. Whatever the case, the end goal is still the same. I encourage you to stay the course because our God is faithful to finish the good work He began in us. May God bless your steps.
