Today is not unlike any other day of the year. We are living lives that are busy and full. For even that, we can thank the Lord our God. It isn't just for a special season of the year, and it is not reserved for only those extra special occasions. Giving God thanks should be the habit of every born again Christ follower.
Here's the verse...
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
As we can see, the giving of thanks is necessary IN all situations we face. Now you and I may not be very thankful for a particular situation we may be experiencing, however, we can still thank God because He is still doing something good for us in the midst of it.
I recently heard a message that the minute we wake up and before we do anything, we should be thanking the Lord for this day that He has made. We should rejoice and be glad in it.
This may seem like a simple message, but it is no less important than any verse in the Word of God. He has given us everything we need in His Word for life and godliness, and He has positioned us as teachers and ministers to bring the teachings we are getting to those who need it.
Today, my friend, I want to encourage you to look up and thank the Lord, even many times in a day. After all He went to the trouble to create us, and give us so much good. The least we can do is remember how good He is and all He has done for us, both past and present, and even into the future.
Our God is a good God. He will never leave us or forsake us, and He is with us in every victory as well as every trial. Jesus told us He will be with us always. So today, and everyday, lets look up and say a passionate, "Thank You Heavenly Father, thank You Jesus, and thank You Holy Spirit for all You are and all You do. What an awesome God You are!
This week, if you need prayer, we are always available. We have an ongoing and endless list of people we are praying for, and are always grateful for your prayers too. Be encouraged dear sister and brother. Whatever you need Him to do, stand upon His Word, and trust in His purposes and plans for you, and know that no matter how it may look, He will be right by your side. This is our faithful God.
