SPEAK TO YOUR MOUNTAINS

Speak To Your Mountain

Then he said to me, “This [continuous supply of oil] is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel [prince of Judah], saying, ‘Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit [of whom the oil is a symbol],’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘What are you, O great mountain [of obstacles]? Before Zerubbabel [who will rebuild the temple] you will become a plain (insignificant)! And he will bring out the capstone [of the new temple] with loud shouts of “Grace, grace to it!”’”

Zechariah 4:6-7

For years I didn't really understand what people meant when they talked about speaking to the mountain. But Zechariah was told about how to deal with mountains, and then in the New Testament, Jesus also spoke about speaking to mountains. Look at this...

So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

Matthew 17:20

Mountains, simply put, are obstacles in our way. Things that are blocking progress. God has done such great things for us through our Lord Jesus, and one of the biggest things is the authority and ability to speak His Word over our lives and the situations we face.

I don't know about you, but it took a long time to for me realize that our situations in life can be our mountains. And indeed, they are. When faced with a trial that is beyond our human control, we learn from God's Word how to handle it. Of course, we call on Him and trust Him. But we must also see how He told us to speak to these obstacles.

The greatest thing I have learned is that speaking the Word of God over any situation we face will bring us victory. If we know and believe that His Word is alive, active, and it is for us here and now, we can accomplish great improvement and victory in our lives. Every promise of God is "yes and amen!"

One day the Lord told me that this verse in Zechariah is to be my life verse. Now I believe I understand why. It's the verse that assures me that as I take authority over the issues, I face that I need to move out of my way, His Word is faithful to perform it with a whole lotta grace!

Whatever you are facing today, I encourage you to read these verses and really get them down in your heart. There is no limit to what we can apply this to. If you're having a problem with something, anything, start speaking from the Word over it and to it. Watch as His grace begins to move it out of the way. God, by virtue of His all-powerful Word, spoken by faith from our mouths, is the only true Mountain Mover! Hallelujah!

We hope this encourages you. Pray, trust, believe, wait and see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. He is faithful.

May God bless you as you make it a great week!

PRAYER & CASTING YOUR CARE

PRAYING & CASTING YOUR CARE

"casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

We recently went on vacation and had opportunity to put this into practice. When we needed to ask the Lord for help in a situation, we had to cast the care of it to Him and refuse to worry about it. This is what we did: We prayed that the hotel would not be sold out for 2 of the nights we were to be there. Then we did our part by finding a back up plan which was not our desire. We did not want to move hotels just two days before heading back home.

We were at a hotel that we have visited multiple times and we felt comfortable with the staff, our room and the location. Once we prayed and secured something in case the Lord had a reason for us to change hotels, we cast the care of the situation to Him. Every time the temptation came to worry, we just said, "No, we are not going to worry. We asked the Lord for His help. Now we are going to trust Him."

And we had peace in the waiting time. One by one, the days we needed began to open up. We were excited. Saturday night had opened up for us. All we needed was for Friday to be available and we would be set. We were so blessed to come out on Friday morning to the front desk where they happily announced that a room had opened up for us and we would be able to stay, uninterrupted until we were ready to fly home.

This is a practice we must diligently do. When we are asking the Lord for something, our flesh, and/or the devil will want to rise up and bring fear or worry to us. But our job is to say, "No!" I have given this situation to the Lord. I refuse to fear or worry." God is faithful when we pray. We must first start by believing we receive the minute we pray. Our job is to believe it all the way until it manifests in the natural realm. Faith without works is dead. Worry is sin and we must resist it at all costs.

We hope this encourages you. Pray, trust, believe, wait and see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. He is faithful.

May God bless you as you make it a great week!

Come Aside and Rest

Everyone Needs Times of Rest

bible verse I will give you rest Matthew 11 28 on white background vector illustration

Come Aside and Rest

And He said to them, “Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.” For there were many coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat. (Mark 6:31)

I bet when you read that, you probably thought, "Ya, right. Who has time for that??" But that is just what we need. For the purpose of this devotion, I will keep this brief, however, an entire study on rest could show us in detail how God calls us to rest.

In this passage, Jesus and His disciples were ministering to people who were coming and going, and they were so busy, they didn't even have the time to rest or eat. Jesus called His disciples to come aside with Him and rest. That's just what they needed. What a word in season!

This week we are on vacation visiting very dear friends. From the moment we landed from a delayed and late-night flight, we hit the ground running. With not enough rest the first night, we trusted God to keep us strong. We were praying for people and handing out tracts wherever we went, and busy going from one friend's home to another to enjoy people we hadn't seen in almost two years. By Thursday, we were feeling very over tired.

I read my own Bible study for today and this verse was the one that came up. Needless to say, rather than getting in the car and heading out to more activity, we ate breakfast and took a nap. We knew we had to stop and regroup. Have you been feeling like that lately? In our fast paced, high demand world, Jesus is still calling us to sit there at His feet and take time to rest with Him.

We were not wired to go nonstop. Even the Lord our Creator took the time to rest on the 7th day after all He had created. He is our example. In the Bible, Jesus took time to get away and sleep and pray and just take a break. Well friends, if Jesus could make that a priority, maybe we ought to reconsider our schedules a bit as well, amen?

Today, if you feel like you are just overloaded and need to take a quiet break in the Lord's loving presence, then maybe you can find a way to put off a few things to do just that - rest. We hope this word brings you the refreshing encouragement that your soul needs. None of us are robots. We are human and sometimes we need to just "be."

Be blessed, refreshed and encouraged dear friend and take the time to Rest!

May God bless you as you make it a great week!

PRAISE BEFORE MY BREAKTHROUGH

Free happy woman arms up praising freedom at beach sunset. Young adult enjoying breathing freely fresh air.

Praise Before My Breakthrough

But at midnight, Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone's chains were loosed. Acts 16:25-26

I read this earlier in the week and was reminded that throughout the Bible, there were instances where people were facing great trials. They sang and praised the Lord before the victory in the battle. It seems odd to the human mind to give thanks for something we have yet to see. That's how battles are won in God's kingdom. We have real live accounts in the Old and New Testament of this sort of thing.

In my time with the Lord this morning, I heard a song called, "Praise Before My Breakthrough" and I knew that would be today's message. Most of us are facing some challenge or another in our lives. This comes as a loving reminder that our best way through it is to praise the Lord for that promise He gave you, that victory in a situation that you are believing for, before it comes to pass.

Another thing to remember is that God inhabits the praises of His people. That's exciting! It means He is spiritually involved with us when we are praising Him. Though trials may be tough, we always have the One Who gives us the victory. Let's keep on praising Him and thanking Him until and after we see the victory in the things we need to happen. God is so faithful to His Word.
