Blessed are the Pure in Heart

Hidden Treasures   Mathew 5:8  Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.  This has been another awesome week with Jesus! We met a couple a week ago. They are new to Florida, and don't have a lot of people they are connected with. The woman had called me to help her with insurance. She was very concerned about her situation and we assured her that we would help.  At first glance, it looked like a very tough situation. I felt it was going to be quite a challenge and we had some obstacles to overcome. During our first meeting, Denny & I took it slow. We tried to calm her. Her husband waited in the car as we talked with her.  When we were done discussing business, I asked her if I could pray for her. She said "Yes, I'm a Christian and I would like that." We took her hands and prayed, and Jesus was so powerfully among us that at the end, she said, "Wow! That was powerful!" as she began to cry and so did I.  I invited them to Church and they came. We were so excited. Then we had another meeting this week and were able to help further with her insurance. This time her husband joined us, feeling more comfortable since having spent time with us on Sunday.  He shared his heart with us, and even showed us a picture of his church that he had drawn from up north. It was hand drawn and looked completely professional. I was in awe. We never know what treasure lies beneath a person's surface. By the end of the meeting, I was once again praying for them. His heart had opened quite a bit to us, and our hearts were deeply touch.  Later I asked the Lord about a verse for my evening prayer session, and He gave me this one from Matthew 5:8. We learn from every situation we encounter with God's precious people. Today I want to encourage you to remember that we can never tell what a person's hidden treasures are until we take the time to slow down and do the necessary digging until that treasure is uncovered.  The next time God brings a stranger across your path, will you remember to take the time to get out your spiritual shovel and do some hunting and digging? This is Our God, King Jesus

 

Who He Is & What He Has Done

This Is Our God, King Jesus   This morning a couple of songs touched me. One was titled, "I Still Believe" talking about how our God is the same yesterday, today and forever. This song reminded me that the goodness of our God never changes. His love is everlasting for us and His mercy is new every morning. Do you still believe it? I for believe it very much.  The other song that Holy Spirit brought to me was called, "This is Our God." When we get up and see yet another beautiful sunrise, and Holy Spirit touches our hearts deeply, it's amazing that this is our God! All the blessings we encounter in a day, how could we ever find things to complain about?  The song talks about how He saved us, how He loves us. It reminds us of how He takes away fear as we trust in Him. He lifts us up when our faith is wavering. He never fails us, no matter what season we are experiencing in our lives.  The song reminds us of His faithfulness. We remember how He pulled us out horrible situations when we called on Him. We think about how wonderful it is to just sit with Him and enjoy Who He is. Jesus is wonderful above all others to just be in His presence. He is always kind, loving and tender toward us when we hurt and just need Him to be with us.  He is the God of miracles. He is the God of restoration. His love never fails and He never leaves us or forsakes us. He is with us every step, through everything we think we failed at. He is always awake and working things together for our good because we love Him and delight ourselves in Him.  Maybe as a Christ follower we just needed to be reminded for a couple of moments today that His love and desire for us is still good! He still wants to be closer than close to us and also use us to bless a lot of other people. There is nothing else life could offer but that which we find in our God - King Jesus.  Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Hebrews 13:8  We hope this encourages you. Pray, trust, believe, wait and see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Tear Off the Roof!

Can Bitterness & Unforgiveness Cause Sickness?   The answer to this question is yes! Jesus Himself encountered many who were sick and oppressed of the devil. But what was the root of the sickness, and where did it come from?  There are several accounts where Jesus had to heal people who needed their sins to be be forgiven in order to be healed. Many Christians may not believe this. Cancer for example, can stem from a root of bitterness and arthritis can come from self hatred and self unforgiveness.  The good news is that we can check ourselves regularly by asking Holy Spirit to reveal to us if we have any bitterness toward ourselves or others. The same with any other sin, like unforgiveness.  Look at these verses:  And again He entered Capernaum after some days, and it was heard that He was in the house. Immediately many gathered together, so that there was no longer room to receive them, not even near the door. And He preached the Word to them. Then they came to Him, bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men. And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven you." Mark 2:1-5  So you see, this man was sick and it was sin that needed forgiveness. The great news is that he and his precious friends had faith to believe that Jesus both could and would heal him, and He did!  Whatever you or a loved one is dealing with today, go to God and ask Him to reveal to you what the root of the illness might be. There is wonderful healing just waiting to happen. This is God's will, that you and I be healed. Believe it! Receive it!  We hope this encourages you. THE BREAKTHROUGH IS COMING!

 

The Breakthrough is Coming! What have you been believing God for over the last weeks, months or even years? Did it seem like it would never come? Are you weary in the waiting? My friend, I received an encouraging word from the Lord today and I just gotta share it with you. As I prepare to embark on an upcoming project next week, one that I have prayed about and waited for ever since I arrived in Florida in 2007, God has come through to me today to call me to believe Him for it and act out of a place of faith and victory! Holy Spirit brought me this song as I was walking Jesse with Denny this morning. It's called "Won't stop now!" I hope you will pull that up in You Tube Music and listen. Pay close attention to the lyrics! They are 'spot on' to help us know that whatever He has brought you and I through up to this point is all a preparation to step into what He has had for us to do all along. His presence is the open door to the signs, wonders and miracles that we have been believing for. It's time to be fully surrendered to His will, His way, trusting fully that He who began this good work is faithful to complete it until the day of Christ Jesus' return for us! His grace is enough, and His power is made perfect in our human weakness. Today this verse came up and it is so hard, but so worth it; Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it." Our call to follow Jesus was never meant to be easy. He knew that for Himself. What He did for us was ugly, hard, brutal and bloody! What He is calling us to do is NOT easy! No! But He is worth it. It is time for us, His body, to rise up and carry whatever cross He calls us to carry every single day. As we do, we will see the awesome amazing move of Holy Spirit in our lives and through our lives. Friend do not grow weary in well doing. Get committed! Get on fire for Jesus! Press in and know that He is with us and will never leave us helpless to do this on our own. He gave us great and precious promises to believe for. Things like healing, deliverance, restoration and the ability to be used by Him to bring many into the kingdom of God. With God, all these things are possible. Let's pray for one another and encourage each other. Let's take up our cross and go after all that God has promised us. The breakthrough really is coming! Believe it, receive it and lay hold of it by faith. Remember, do not speak anything but victory over yourself, your family, friends and neighborhood, your city, state and our nation. Speak life and lay hold friend! God bless you in your journey, and hold on, because the best is yet to come. We hope this encourages you.
