Merry Christmas Jesus!

So Much to Praise God For!

Merry Christmas Jesus

As we celebrate the birth of our Savior and Lord once again, may the warmth and delight of all He means to us fill our hearts this Christmas.

No matter what we are going through, we always have a reason to rejoice!

May the miracle of His birth inspire us to believe God for greater things in the year to come.

May the blessings of His love and presence compel us all to come closer to Him than ever before!

May Holy Spirit lead us and guide like the gentle Shepherd that He is in all of of our daily affairs.

Have fun, rejoice, and be glad because our eyes have seen His salvation!

For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. (Luke 2:11)

Merry Christmas and warmest wishes!

WISE MEN STILL SEEK HIM - What are You Seeking this Christmas Season?

What Are You Seeking this Christmas Season?

Wise Men Still Seek Him

Let's look at what God did to prepare the world for the greatest thing He would ever do for mankind....

Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His Name Immanuel. (Isaiah 7:14)

Here we see that God clearly gave a sign to the known world that He Himself would provide for Himself a Son who would be named "Immanuel - meaning God with us." He was coming to earth to save us from our sins so we could be with Him in heaven forever.

Next, we look at the details in Matthew 2 about the wise men who sought after this promised holy Child Jesus. These men from the east who had seen His star traveled a very long and rough distance to come see Jesus and worship Him. That trip would have been a huge sacrifice and of great cost! When they arrived, they found what they were looking for. What a reward!

Look at Matthew 2:11...

And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshipped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, fankincense, and myrrh.

Where are you this Christmas season? Are you still somewhere in the "east" thinking about it, or are you making a sincere effort to really seek Jesus and worship Him with the gift that's most precious to Him, a life surrendered to follow and daily seek Him?

Many will enjoy all the worldly pleasures of the season, and some of those things are wonderful, as God loves for us to be able to celebrate this momentous event with our family. But how many will actually continue to seek Him as the treasured gift that came down from God? Will December 25 come and go as just another holiday? Or, will you be one of the "wise men" that continues to seek Him every single day of your life?

Today, I pray we all think about this: Lord, I need You! I am not only seeking You, but longing to follow You all the days of my life and live for You! What gift would bless you? What can I bring to You that would please You?

Let's seek the greatest gift ever given to mankind and have the greatest Christmas we ever had in the mighty Name of Jesus! Amen!

Preparing for The New Thing

Getting ready for what's next

Preparing for The New Thing

The voice of one crying in the wilderness: “Prepare the way of the Lord; Make straight in the desert a highway for our God. (Isaiah 40:3)

As we get ready to close out this year, many of us may find ourselves in a wilderness experience. It's like God is wanting to do something new, but He wants to get the old out of us so we can embrace the new. That's great news, but it is not easy. Trying to move forward with a bunch of old stuff dragging us down will prevent us from truly embracing all that God has for us.

Here's some examples of how God used wilderness experiences to get folks ready for the new thing:

When Moses was in the desert, God called him and prepared him to go set His people free.

When Elijah was in despair in a cave, God spoke to him in a whisper and called him out of that cave!

When John the baptist was in the wilderness, he was calling people to prepare the way of the Lord, because Jesus was about to arrive on the scene.

When Jesus was in the wilderness, God used that experience for Him to overcome the devil and prepare to begin His ministry that would save all mankind!

In each situation, these men were in a season of preparation. It wasn't a fun experience, but a necessary one. What the Lord is calling us to do as we end this year is to allow Him to cleanse us, clear out the old and remove things in our heart that need to go.

As we celebrate Christmas, and celebrate we should, may we remember to allow God to use this time to get us truly ready to embrace new things that are coming that will bring glory to God and help for many people. Our job is to listen to His voice, ask questions and obey His commands.

Remember, it's easy and great to enjoy Him in those mountaintop moments. But God does His best work in us when we are in the wilderness. He draws us closer to Him. So, painful though it may be, give Him thanks and embrace the new you that He is busy forming. Then go out and make disciples!

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

The Bumble Bee

The Bumble Bee

Bumble Bee pollinating and collecting nectar from a Lupin flower in the garden at the Sunset. Shallow debth of field

Have you considered the wonder of the life of a bumble bee? They were hand made by our God to feed on these beautiful flowers to get their much needed nourishment. And so it is with the life of a born again child of God. We were created to have fellowship with God and press deep into His presence on a daily basis to get our nourishment from Him. Here's some verses to consider:

But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ” (Matthew 4:4)

For He satisfies the longing soul, And fills the hungry soul with goodness. (Psalm 107:9)

As one whom his mother comforts, So I will comfort you; And you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.” (Isaiah 66:13)

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled. (Matthew 5:6)

As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. (Psalm 42:1)

In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul. (Psalm 94:19)

As I spent time with Jesus this morning, I was reminded that taking extra time to just sit with Him, not only in our usual morning prayer times, but at other times also. When we do, we always come away from that experience feeling better than we did when we went in. At least, that's the plan. We can be doing a lot of things for the Lord, and if we are actually doing what He has called us to do, great. But first we must be careful to be a "Bee" first, before being a doer.

This week, I want to learn more about how to just be with Him and enjoy His presence. How about you?
