Thanksgiving- What’s it really all about?

 Sunday Message Nov 19

Thanksgiving-What’s it really all about?

“Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples!”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭105‬:‭1‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

It’s that time of year once again. The autumn season has come, and the weather is just a bit cooler. People are making great plans for family and friends to gather.

Robust dinner plans are in the making and it’s busy, busy, busy as we go to and fro, adding our holiday preparations to our already overloaded schedules.

This morning in my time with the Lord I was reminded to keep the main thing the main thing. What is that you ask? It’s taking the time to be thankful to God for all He has done for us all year long.

The original Thanksgiving was all about that. Yes, they made a meal to celebrate. The ones who survived that first season were more than grateful to God for sustaining them through all the difficulties they had to face.

There were many who risked their lives to come to a land where they could be spiritually free and worship the one true God! For the few who actually made it, we can be sure they knew why they were celebrating!

God had brought them through and honored their plight to come to a place where He would be thanked and welcomed as the Head at their table and keeper of their lives.

Many of us have had challenges and trials of one sort or another since the last time we gathered to give Him thanks. There’s one thing I have learned about that. No matter the pain, difficulties or trials, He is still passionately in love with us, His people.

We are still here and He is still healing, comforting and providing. God goes before us each day and helps us keep on going in good times and in bad.

This year, I pray that we will all take the time to stop and really remember the true purpose for this holiday. I pray we will be grateful no matter what and be passionate about our adoration of Who Jesus is and all He has saved us from!

May we continue to pray for all those we know who needs it, including Israel and the Ukraine. Let’s continue to be thankful as His children every day, and keep praying for a mighty revival among all the nations, so we will see the highway of people going to Jerusalem to praise the Lord!

May your Thanksgiving be so blessed and invite someone who doesn’t have anyone to share the day with!

Please feel free to share this with family and friends and give them my number.

These blogs go out individually, not as a group text!

We love you all in Jesus! ✝️❤️🙏🏻
