“Multiplying
God’s Word Around The Globe”
Chapter Reading
for Today: Please read in
your Bible before proceeding. Note that most translations are considered
paraphrases. The Young’s Literal Translation provides a more accurate
translation since he is the one who authored a concordance. Others are helpful
for seeing a different perspective, but we cannot always depend on their
wording. I hope this is helpful to you. If you are studying in another version,
that is fine. I am studying from the KJV, but for the purpose of this study, I
will keep it with the New King James Version.
One final note: I will put the scripture in italics to differentiate from my
own writing. I am adding red to the letters when
it is Jesus talking – just like the Bible. Thank you.
Bible
Gateway Verse of the Day
2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof,
for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be
complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Psalm 86
A Model Prayer Life - Jesus’ Way of Prayer
This is an exciting view of the fundamentals of effective
prayer. The Lord has blessed me with some excellent tools and resources to help
me and my husband grow in our prayer lives. In addition, we have Bibles from
strong men of God who have studied and been given much revelation by Holy Spirit
on the effective ways to pray. Men like Kenneth E. Hagin, Kenneth Copeland and
Morris Cerullo are people who we highly admire and respect for their
sacrificial walks with the Master. Their willingness to lay down their lives for
the work of the ministry has enabled Jesus to give us the correct methods of
praying according to Biblical standards. Because of their obedience, we now have
detailed information that ties every form of prayer together with the word of
God to equip every Christian to pray and get the results that God wants to
bring in and through them through prayer. Let’s pray…
Heavenly Father:
Thank You for Jesus! Because You gave Him to us we have been
redeemed from the curse of the law. Because of His great sacrifice, we can now
enter the holy of holies to be in Your presence. It is too marvelous for words.
Father, we know that praying is not just running to You to ask for help in time
of need, though that is certainly a part. Prayer is an ongoing form of
communion and communication between You and us. Father, today I ask You to
bring Your children whom You desire to hear this message to read this blog –
all over the world. I bind satan in the name of Jesus from hindering this
message in any way from reaching Your intended recipients. Lord, cause this
message to transform our prayer lives from that which brings no results and
only leads to doubt and fear to that which is powerful and effective for the
kingdom of heaven. Use my hands as the pen of a ready writer. Make this go out unhindered
and unchecked by any outside force or my flesh. Father, I ask You for the
anointing on Your word today. Give me the utterance to speak. Give us eyes and
ears that are open to see and hear by Holy Spirit and give us hearts that are
able to absorb this message and retain its lessons for a life of true prayer
with You. Thank You in advance for the changes You intend to bring in us
through this study of Your precious word. Father, we purpose to be not just
forgetful hearers, but to be doers of Your word. Thank You for always watching
over Your word to perform it in our lives when we obey it in Jesus mighty name.
Amen.
We have a lot of ground to cover so let’s get right to it. In
summary of this chapter we can see a few things that really stand out. The Lord
is giving us this as an example of a child of God who knows they can call on
the Lord in an urgent time of need. In today’s chapter, the need was for the
Lord’s intervention because the enemy was giving him trouble. How many can
relate to this? Some of the things we can see is that the person writing this
prayer, inspired of course by Holy Spirit, knew that he could call on God. Can
that be said of you? Do you know that He is always available? He is, you know;
24 hours every day.
He also knew who God is and what He does. The psalmist gives
God all the glory as he recalls marvelous things that God has done for him. He
came to the Lord in full assurance that the Lord would listen and hear his
prayer. We will get into some prayer principals that will help us understand
what causes the Lord to “hear” our prayers vs. not “hearing” them. More on that
in a bit. We have talked about this in a previous study, but it bears repeating
now. Knowing who God is and what He can do are vital. In addition to this, remembering
what He has done for us in the past should increase our faith to realize that
He can help in the current situations we are facing just like He did before –
regardless of what those circumstances were back then. It does not matter what
the issue is – what matters is that we constantly remember who God is (how big
He is) and what He can do for us. Hallelujah!
As this chapter moves along the writer (put yourself in his
place as you study because this is meant to be us) is asking the Lord to show
Himself strong on his behalf in the face of the enemy. In so doing, God can
make a person’s enemies flee in awesome wonder and complete embarrassment for
ever having messed with the man/woman of God – glory to His name forever! Remember
the words of the Lord – “Vengeance is mine – I will repay,” says the Lord. While
we are busy overcoming evil with good, God is right here always causing us to
triumph in every situation through Christ Jesus our Lord. That is worth getting
excited about.
The person writing this Psalm (put you and me in that place)
is asking God to teach him His ways and cause him to walk in the Lord’s truth,
while giving him a reverent heart for the Lord. Because he loved the Lord –
just like you and me, he would spend his days praising and glorifying God. Does
this describe the desires of your heart? If so, you are in the right place my
friend. There is no greater Teacher than our Lord, and when we learn to walk in
His ways, we will be found praising Him and giving Him all the glory and honor –
hallelujah!
The Lord will step in and help us when we call on Him and He
alone can comfort us. We all need this on a continual basis. We are so little
compared to the greatness of our God and we on our own are poor and needy –
just like the Psalmist noted in the opening verses. Yet, there is hope for the
Christian soul in this. Once we have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we
leave a state of poverty and walk into a life of wealth and riches in every
aspect of our lives – if we will apply ourselves. A lot of this – the majority
really has to do with us. God can’t help us if we are sitting around doing
nothing with our salvation. We are not puppets on a string.
With all of that said, we are going to look at some
scriptures that show examples of Jesus praying. We will see when He prayed, how
He prayed and why He prayed. Let’s start with what was the most intense time of
prayer noted in the Bible in the life of our Lord on the earth…
Matthew 26:36-46
36 Then Jesus came with them to a place called
Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, “Sit here while I go and
pray over there.”37 And He took with Him
Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply
distressed. 38 Then He said to them, “My
soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.”
39 He went a little farther and fell on His face,
and prayed, saying, “O My
Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I
will, but as You will.”
40 Then He came to the disciples and found them
sleeping, and said to Peter, “What! Could you not watch with Me one
hour?41 Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation.
The spirit indeed is willing,
but the flesh is weak.”
42 Again, a second time, He went away and prayed,
saying, “O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me
unless I drink it, Your will be done.” 43 And He came and found them asleep again, for
their eyes were heavy.
44 So He left them, went away again, and prayed the
third time, saying the same words. 45 Then He came
to His disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting?
Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is being betrayed into the
hands of sinners. 46 Rise, let us be going. See, My
betrayer is at hand.”
How many of us have really looked at this time of prayer and
spiritual warfare that Jesus endured in the garden of Gethsemane for what it
really was? I myself only recently received some revelation on this passage. That’s
one reason why I am so excited to share with you what I have received. Glory to
God! First of all, it was not the physical beating or the nails in His hands
and feet that had Jesus praying for the Father’s will verses His own. That was
the surface stuff that was only a tiny part of His great sacrifice for us. To
Him, that was the easy part. It is true that He was praying for the Father’s
will and not His own, causing Him to sweat great drops of blood as He was
striving against sin. Friends, this battle was an intense one such as none of
us can imagine. His flesh was pulling at Him. The devil was pulling hard on Him.
What really caused Jesus to approach the Father with the
words He used, “Not My will but Yours?” It was the thought of being separated
from the Father. He and the Father were one in Spirit, and He had never been
separated from His Father. Remember that Jesus was only operating as a man on
the earth – not as God. Many have this confused. Jesus did miracles by the power
of Holy Spirit – just like you and I can be used to do today – there’s no difference
there my friends. The thing that caused Jesus will to be different from the
Father’s in that moment was this impending separation as He would be taking on
the sins of the entire human race from beginning to end. Even the thought of
going to hell for us would not be the real problem here. It was the separation.
The Father would not be able to look at His Son while these
sins were on Him as He hung there on Calvary’s cross. That is why it got dark
for three hours. He became sin for us. Sin is dark, it is evil. Yes, He who
knew no sin became sin…
2 Corinthians 5:21
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the
righteousness of God in Him.
Back to the reason for this prayer. He needed to watch and
pray. He knew that His Spirit was willing but His flesh was weak. While He was
experiencing this, He was calling His disciples to pray with Him. He used this experience
to teach them too. But they went to sleep! Never the less, Jesus continued to
pray and ask the Father for His will to be done – not Jesus’ own will at that
particular moment. He was struggling. He was facing the biggest temptation and
challenge of His entire earthly life and ministry. Prayer was critical in that
hour.
Can you see how important it is to pray when we see our flesh
wanting to take on the nature of the devil and turn away from the Father’s will?
It happens to us daily. Prayer is vital to keep a Christian in line with the
Father’s will. It is a big investment in our time schedule, but it is the
number one thing that we need to be doing to stay alert in these times of great
trial and intensifying battles with satan and his wicked forces. Jesus knew
what was coming. He knew the importance of prayer. Without it He could have
failed. He was a human after all.
Moving on, let’s look at another time when Jesus had a meeting
with a woman who did not know her Savior. He would have spent time in prayer
that morning with the Father and as the Father would show Him, He would have a
divine appointment with this woman and reveal Himself to her as her Savior and Lord.
As a result of this very important appointment He knew that He had to pray to
bypass the temptations that the devil would surely try to bring His way. Let’s
look…
John 4:27-35
27 And at this point His disciples came, and they marveled that He talked
with a woman; yet no one said, “What do You seek?” or, “Why are You talking
with her?”
28 The woman then left her waterpot, went her way
into the city, and said to the men, 29 “Come, see a
Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?” 30 Then
they went out of the city and came to Him.
31 In the meantime His disciples urged Him, saying,
“Rabbi, eat.”
32 But He said to them, “I have
food to eat of which you do not know.”
33 Therefore the disciples said to one another,
“Has anyone brought Him anything to
eat?”
34 Jesus said to them, “My
food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work. 35 Do
you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your
eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!
Can you see that the disciples were more concerned about
eating while Jesus was busy getting to His divine appointment previously set by
the Father in heaven? This wasn’t the first time that the devil would try to
tempt Jesus with food. We can be certain that this appointment with the
Samaritan woman came from a time of prayer between Jesus and His Father. What
if He had skipped that time because He was wanting to get to His next
appointment? Or, what if He had decided that a handful of choice nuts from the
marketplace were more important than meeting this desperate woman who needed to
see who her Savior really was?
That day was a really big day for the woman at the well who
was drawing on earthly things to sustain her. The well of Living Water was
staring her in the face and she was a harvest waiting to be picked –
hallelujah! And because she found out who the Savior is, in her excitement and
joy, she left the earthly things laying there beside the well and went to share
the good news with the rest of her little village. Is this a description of
your excitement since you found out who Jesus is for your salvation? Upon
hearing this woman’s testimony, the rest of the town folks ran out to see
Jesus. What about you? Are you willing to tell others about your encounter with
Jesus so they too can “come and see” for themselves? Oh, how beautiful are the
feet of them that bring good news…
Isaiah 52:7
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who proclaims peace, who brings glad tidings of good things, Who proclaims salvation, Who says to
Zion, “Your God reigns!”
We can only imagine how beautiful her friends and neighbors
must have thought her feet were because she shared with them the one thing they
would need to secure their eternity with the Father in heaven! Hallelujah! Did
you know that anyone who brings the gospel to a lost person will always have “beautiful
feet” in their eyes as long as they live? I think of my current pastors and I
consider them to have very beautiful feet. Why? Not because I received my salvation
through them. I was already saved when I started attending their church.
However, that said, I was walking in a lot of religious darkness.
They were used by the Lord to bring a lot of light to my heart. Because of
their great sacrifice and willingness to lay down their lives for the gospel,
(anything that is good news from the Bible to him that is weary is the gospel!)
I have come up so far in a very short period of time and am now being used by
the Lord to bring good news to people all over the world! Glory to God - thank
You Jesus! I could shout all day and throughout eternity about this.
OK – let’s move on. Next, we will look at an example of
people who were so hungry for the word of God that they were willing to sit
outside in the hot sun for three long but glorious days to listen to Jesus
preach. This was a great time of prayer and fasting. Listening to the Lord is
just as much prayer as talking to the Father in making requests, etc. Let’s
take a look…
Matthew 15:32-39
32 Now Jesus called His disciples to Himself and said, “I have
compassion on the multitude, because they have now continued with Me three days and have nothing to eat.
And I do not want to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.”
33 Then His disciples said to Him, “Where could we
get enough bread in the wilderness to fill such a great multitude?”
34 Jesus said to them, “How
many loaves do you have?”
And they said, “Seven, and a few little fish.”
35 So He commanded the multitude to sit down on the
ground. 36 And He took the seven loaves and the
fish and gave thanks, broke them and
gave them to His
disciples; and the disciples gave to
the multitude. 37 So they all ate and were filled,
and they took up seven large baskets full of the fragments that were left.38 Now
those who ate were four thousand men, besides women and children. 39 And
He sent away the multitude, got into the boat, and came to the region of
Magdala.
Friends, can you see how Jesus was used to bring good news to
thousands of people that day? What He gave them first was all about the
kingdom. Once again, we can be certain that this event was birthed in a time of
prayer before it ever began to come together. Remember that Jesus said He only
did what He saw His Father do and He only said what He heard His Father say? How
could He see these things in advance or hear from the Father? Through prayer of
course. A vision or verbal instruction from the Father comes when we spend time
with Him. If we skip that time, we are missing far more than we will ever know
in this life. What the Lord has for us to receive and/or do each day is of
number one importance. Can we even begin to imagine how it breaks His heart to
watch people who have accepted Jesus as Savior walk right past Him every morning
because they’re too busy to stop and commune in wonderful fellowship with the
Lord they say they love?
Just last night I was in Office Depot looking for a new
keyboard for my computer. I didn’t find what I wanted but what I received
instead was a divine appointment by the Father. The young man who was helping
me stepped right into an open door for me to talk to him about the things of God.
As I began to give my testimony to him, I was able to ask him a question that
maybe God will use to change the course of his life. I asked him if he knew
that God loves him and he said, “yes.” Next, I asked him if he went to a local
church. He told me that he goes every couple of weeks or so because he is so
busy with work and college.
This gave the Lord an opportunity to talk to him about the
importance of making God the number one priority in one’s life. I was able to
explain to him that if we put God first in our lives and honor Him above all
else, He will honor us according to 1 Samuel 2:30. He was quite attentive as I
allowed Holy Spirit to speak to this heart. I pointed him in the direction I
believe the Lord wanted it to go. It ended well and I was able to leave that
place and pray for that wandering child of God. He has been “squeezing God in”
whenever he thought it was convenient for him. But what if I would have been
more concerned about getting a keyboard and getting out of there? What if I had
not opened my mouth?
The principal of provision in the verses in Matthew here go far
beyond the physical realm. What Jesus was showing them all was this…
Matthew 6:33
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these
things shall be added to you.
Jesus
showed everyone that day by His own example that in seeking a word from God as
priority over physical needs like eating, etc., the Lord would provide the
things they needed in the natural realm. When we seek the supernatural, God
provides the natural and takes great pleasure in doing so. How many of us would
take out three days to just block out the cares of this life to sit and listen
to the Lord? This is important for all of us friends. We really need to get
this.
Jesus
made it a daily habit to devote the early hours of the day to prayer. That
means getting up early friends – before the business of life rushes in. He
lived in a constant spirit of prayer. Remember that prayer is communion
(fellowship with God) and should be an ongoing priority for every Christian, no
matter what our vocation may be. Jesus prayed in every emergency, every
situation, at every opportunity. He prayed in the midst of a busy schedule.
Yes, He was busy too folks. He had a ministry like many we have today. He was
busy about the Father’s business. He was not sitting around eating honey and
chit chatting about non-essential things – we can be sure.
Jesus
prayed to escape popularity and after ministry successes. He prayed for His
friends, His followers and His enemies. Can that be said of you and me? Here
are some key points about Jesus’ prayer life:
He
prayed any time of the day or night
His
prayer life took priority over eating
His
prayer life took priority over business
He
taught others to pray
We
can search the scriptures and find out the many ways and numerous times that He
prayed for things like His disciples walk with Him, before the transfiguration,
prior to His ascension, and of course, as we looked at earlier - before His
greatest trial. I could name more but it would do you well to search the
scriptures on this very important topic on your own. In addition, I always
recommend Kenneth E. Hagin’s Bible Study Prayer Guide. One can get this on
Amazon.com and it is very inexpensive, though its contents are priceless!
Some
people may be confused on what strategic “warfare” praying is all about, so
today we will talk about the keys to what it means. First of all, screaming and
yelling at the top of our lungs or repeating things over and over in vain
repetition is NOT effective prayer. Prayer should be led by Holy Spirit. We do
not know how we ought to pray as we ought…
Romans
8:26-27
26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses.
For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself
makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 Now
He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes
intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
Friends, this is why it is so important to pray in tongues,
also known as praying in the Spirit. Only God truly knows what needs to be
prayed out to begin with. Yes, we can pray in the natural with our
understanding, but that should flow into praying in the Spirit. Again, Kenneth
E. Hagin’s Bible Study Prayer Guide is very helpful to give you much greater
detail than we can cover here.
All prayer that brings results is based on the word of God.
Prayer is based on our relationship with the Lord. Prayer deals with the
battles we face in the natural, like sickness, family issues, work issues, etc.
The battles we face in life are not “natural” battles even though they appear
to us in the natural. They are supernatural and they require supernatural
prayers.
We have to know what we are asking the Lord for when we are
making requests. Remember, asking for things is only one aspect or prayer. Our
prayers should be divinely energized. The longer we take the deeper we can go
in our prayer life. Hurrying will not get much done. This isn’t to say that we
can’t say a quick prayer for help in a given situation throughout the day or
that we cannot give thanks to God in prayer all day long. He tells us that in
everything we should give thanks and after we have done the will of God, we
will receive the promise. There are different types of prayers. Warfare prayer
is getting to the root of the battels we are facing from the enemy.
Here are some other key points of strategic warfare prayers:
Prayers must be divinely energized by Holy Spirit – we are
very limited to pray effectively from our human understanding
It goes beyond our head knowledge – only Holy Spirit knows
what needs to really be prayed out
It encompasses powerful spiritual weapons – The word of God,
as sharp sword that pierces the darkness
It is waged from a position of victory – We face satan in victory
through the name of Jesus as born again believers; satan has already been
defeated
We pray from a position of the throne room of God – we are
already seated in heavenly places through Jesus Christ our Lord (in the
spiritual sense of course!)
Is essential to the end time harvest – this is the time we
are in now
Penetrates enemy lines – tears down strongholds in people’s
lives, opens blind eyes, etc.
Fights the battle behind the scenes – when we battle first in
prayer, we can cast out the demons when out ministering on the front lines.
People will get healed, bondages will be broken, etc.
Is not based on a specific formula – praying through until
the resistance is broken
Is backed by God and the heavenly host - God is fighting for
us and the angels are fighting with us
Releases revelation knowledge – Revelation Jesus received in
prayer was key to the great victories He won on the frontlines
Requires time in God’s presence – We must be willing to spend
time alone with Him, even if it means getting up early or spending all night in
prayer
Let’s remember some further key points. The weapons that
guarantee results are;
The name of Jesus
The word of God
The power of the Holy Spirit
Some additional and very important prayer points are;
We have not if we ask not
We must ask in faith
We must believe we receive when we pray – not when we see the
answer come
We must pray according to the will of God – we cannot ask “amiss”
We must fast when necessary to go deeper in prayer – as the
Lord directs
We must not go back on our prayers – don’t stop the miracle
by a confession of doubt
Next, let’s look at some things that can hinder our prayers.
This list is not “all inclusive” however it is enough to help anyone get
started down the right path of prayer for an effective and victorious Christian
life.
Prayer hindrances can include;
Sin in our lives
Unforgiveness
Disobedience
Bitterness
Wrong motives
Lack of giving
Not seeking first the kingdom
Wrong treatment of a marriage partner
Self-Righteousness
Unbelief
Hypocrisy
Pride
Meaningless repetition
Not praying to the Father in Jesus name -praying to anyone
but the Father in the name of Jesus is useless
Satanic forces blocking us from our answer – we must take
authority by coming against satan and his forces
When we are in right standing with the Lord, we can go boldly
to His throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace to help in our time of
need. That’s what Jesus was doing in the garden of Gethsemane. Much of our
lives deal with the many temptations that come against us by satan and his
forces. They are seeking to throw us out of a right relationship with the Lord
because they know very well that people living in any of the above named
situations will not get their prayers answered - least of all those who will
not even take the time to pray at all.
Friends, our prayers are the keys that God has given us to
open great and effective doors for His work to be done in the earth. It is not
the prayer that we place our faith in – it is God alone. His word says…
Mark 11:22
So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God.
If there is anyone willing to raise a hand
that more prayer is needed one’s life – it will be me. As I studied this today
I realize more than ever how much time is required to be in prayer with the
Lord. It is the number one thing in our lives that can make a difference not
only for ourselves and our families, but for the body of Christ and those souls
who have yet to receive their free gift of salvation. If we do not care for
others enough to pray for them, we need to question ourselves and see if we
really have the Spirit of God living in us. God loves people. He does not want
anyone to perish. Loving people means praying for them. Here is what the Bible
says about the prayer of the upright (those who are living right before the
Lord) …
Proverbs 15:8
The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to
the Lord, but the
prayer of the upright is His delight.
I will give
God glory for how He birthed this message in me this morning before I ever made
it out to the breakfast table with my husband. Upon getting up very early as is
our usual custom around here, we went to prayer. We started with worship music
and I depended on the Lord to pick the songs after I chose the initial one. Don’t
you know that He had the next song come on about repenting of sin. After that
it was the “Lord’s Prayer” - a song from Jesus’ teaching the disciples to pray
in the book of Matthew as sung by Phil Driscoll. Then while we were on our
knees I opened the Bible and turned to the prayer principles portion of my
Morris Cerullo Bible.
Later in
the morning as I began to open the other Bibles I use each day for this study
time, I opened to another page about how Jesus prays. I also opened two
separate Bibles that both fell on Matthew 26 which we discussed in this lesson
today. The Lord was making His message to us clear for this chapter. All of
this came about through prayer time with Him and faith in Him. It was glorious
to watch all of this unfold. Even the little scripture card that I pulled from
my box was a verse that the Lord wanted to place in the study today from
Matthew 15. He is so amazing!
I stand in
awe of what He does when I spend time with Him in prayer and in His word. Every
day I am seeing miracles unfold in this home that keep me praising Him and
gazing at Him as the most awesome One I could ever know. And the Lord wants to
do things like this in all our lives. We have to take the time. I can tell you
that I have missed many moments and messages that I should not have missed, but
I am learning – just like you. Glory to God!
Dear
friends, let’s take this message today very seriously so we can all come up in
our prayer lives! That time spent is the best investment we can ever make and
the returns we will realize are beyond counting – glory to God! In our chapter
today, the person writing the Psalm, thought to be David, a man after God’s own
heart, knew this. He could call on His God and his enemies would be put to
shame. David lived a life of prayer. This is easy for us to see as we have
studied the Psalms, isn’t it? Is this the desire of your heart? Do you know God
intimately enough to know that He is for you and not against you? Do you know that
He is fighting for you? Do you want to see the power of God in your family,
your business and your country? If so, make prayer a daily and constant state
of being and you will see miracles unfolding all around you!
Let's Pray...
Heavenly Father:
Thank You for showing us in Your word the importance
of and the power of God through prayer in the name of Your Son Jesus - our
living example. Lord I ask that You would show me the pockets of time that I
can set aside to pray on a daily basis. Father, I ask You to forgive me for
being slack in my time in prayer – communion with You. Lord, I want to make You
number one in my life. I want to be free of any hindrances. I ask You to show
me anything in my life that I need to repent of so You will hear me when I pray
and we can enjoy sweet fellowship. I love You Lord and I want to love You more –
with all my heart, all my soul, all my mind and all my strength. I cannot get
there on my own so I am asking for Your help in faith. I believe I received my
answer to this prayer right now and I thank You for it in the mighty and
powerful name of Jesus! Amen.
There are three main points to
consider from today’s study…
Spending time with God in prayer can
bring dynamic results to the Christian life
God will show Himself strong on our
behalf against our enemies
Effective warfare prayer is
necessary to break the strongholds of the enemy
Questions:
What spoke to you the most in this lesson?
What difference do you believe these principals will make in
your prayer life?
In what ways will you change your schedule to work in more

Joel 2:25-27
25 “So I will
restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten,
The crawling locust,
The consuming locust,
And the chewing locust,
My great army which I sent among you.
26 You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied,
And praise the name of the Lord your God,
Who has dealt wondrously with you;
And My people shall never be put to shame.
27 Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel:
I am the Lord your God
And there is no other.
My people shall never be put to shame.
The crawling locust,
The consuming locust,
And the chewing locust,
My great army which I sent among you.
26 You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied,
And praise the name of the Lord your God,
Who has dealt wondrously with you;
And My people shall never be put to shame.
27 Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel:
I am the Lord your God
And there is no other.
My people shall never be put to shame.
