My Experience, Strength & Hope
This week's message touches my heart deeply. Too often, we see people of God suffering from obesity and sickness and diseases that the Lord was resurrected to deliver us from. As I recall my 3rd John 2 chapter written several years ago, I reflect on the goodness and the power of the Lord to deliver me from the bondage of food and sugar addiction. I spent years learning how to depend on Him for how I would treat my body through proper diet and exercise, led by the Word of God which is what keeps me.
Today, over 20 years later, I still stand on the Word of my Savior and my God, my Abba Daddy in heaven Who comforts me and heals me from every disease.
It is the cry of Father's loving heart that we follow His Word and live a life of sacrifice and joy in the journey. He said He would never leave or forsake us, and that He would be with us always - even to the end of the age. He also promised to never leave us helpless. What blesses our God most of all is our humility to depend fully on Him, and not the flesh.
There are two things we must do. One - ask for help. Two, receive it. Know that we need Him to deliver us from all evil. After all, in Acts 10:38, we see the heart of the Father as Jesus (Who is God) went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil. Everything the Father did was on full display in His Son Jesus. God came to do for us what Only He could do by becoming like us. In all of that, the goal was to bring us into right standing and relationship with Him.
We were created to walk in healing. We were made to enjoy our God and honor Him and live long and strong like 3rd John 2 says. If you are reading this and you are born again, you obviously have a desire to be more like Jesus, and the Father too.
Today, if you are filling your body, or mind with things that are not godly and healthy, there is no better time than the present to make a new start. Ask the Father to help you do what maybe you have tried to do on your own and have not been able to achieve.
Call upon Him and show Him that you not only need Him but that you trust Him to do what only He can do. I know I had to. He is so faithful. Think of this. Would you pour a coke into the gas tank of a car? No! Why would we fill our bodies, or minds with anything that is less than pure and good?
Let's remember who we are in Christ and show the Lord that we can trust Him to help us to honor Him in every area of our lives - including the things that we eat. After years of studying exercise and nutrition, I am here to help anyone who made need some practical tips on how to get started.
