What does freedom mean to you? Does it mean that you are free from things bothering you that shouldn't be allowed to bother you? Does it mean freedom from addiction? Freedom can be described in many ways. After all, we live in a free country where we can live and go about our daily chores and enjoy our family life that God has provided for us. Are you feeling content with yourself and your life these days?
If not, there is something in your life that isn't free. Are there relationship issues that are holding you back? Do you have a false belief system that is blocking your progress? Do you have an unloving sense about yourself and your value? There are many things in this life that can hold people in bondage - many of them are unseen things in our lives.
There is good news! Jesus came to set us free. The Bible says this in John 8:36...
So if the Son makes you free, you are unquestionably free. (AMP)
Many are not really free. Oh, they may live in a house and go to work each day and carry life's normal required duties, but there are battles in the mind that keep many bound.
I will give you an example from my own life. I went through a few years where I battled with sugar addiction and I just couldn't stop eating sweets. It was really affecting my health and the only way I was able to get free was with the Lord's undeniable help. It was a work in progress, and gradually, over time I was free. The enemy never likes it when we get free. He wants God's people to stay bound, but if a person really puts their trust in asking Jesus to help, He most certainly will.
The Bible has many verses that we could discuss, like getting our mind renewed each day from Romans 12:2. We must apply God's Word to ourselves personally and keep believing it and standing in faith it, no matter what is happening around us. The devil will do anything he can to try to convince someone that they are not free.
Child of God, if you seek Jesus for help, He will come running to your aid. If you purpose in your mind to study the Word of God and apply it to yourself personally in faith, you can and will walk in total victory and freedom.
Today, make up your mind to hear the Word of the Lord for yourself, and really apply it to your own personal needs and situations, and He will faithfully walk you through to victory. May this be a great week for you as your apply your heart to wisdom by standing on the unfailing Word and love of God that is in Christ Jesus!
