For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.. (2 Corinthians 10:3-5)
Recently I went on a trip with my husband. We prayed over the trip and we pray as we go along. Sometimes, when we are about to go into a territory other than our usual places, we need to do some extra praying.
Listen, when you are going on a trip out of town, knowing you are going to be witnessing to people wherever you go, don't think for a minute that satan hasn't already tried to go before you and set up demonic assignments to try to sabotage your efforts. Like the apostle Paul, the devil went everywhere he went as he told people about Jesus. He gave him a hard time and stirred up trouble on every side to attempt to stop that good news from advancing and saving lives.
But God! In the verse above, we have the key to fighting our battles victoriously as children of God. This must be done daily, but especially when going on a trip outside your normal territory. Our trip was wonderful and brought excellent results, but it wasn't without an onslaught of spiritual warfare.
We must win the battles before we go forward every single day, and even more so when going to other places. It's our job to tear down the enemy's camp, so he is under our feet every place we go. Remember, we are strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. The devil is no match for the power of God. We will always have the victory when we trust in and rely on the Word of God as our sharp two edged sword combined with the shield of faith to quench every fiery dart of the enemy.
Prepare, and be aware as you go.
