Recently
I came out of a church service on a Sunday afternoon. My husband
and I went to one of our favorite restaurants to have a meal. Our
hostess led us through the bar area over to a table in the dining
room. On our way by the bar, I saw a lady sitting there alone. I
said to her as I walked by, "Jesus Loves You!"
When
she looked at me and we made eye contact, I could see the tears
immediately well up in her eyes. I went over and put my hand on
her shoulder. I told her that whatever is hurting her, Jesus can
heal. She nodded in agreement.
Next,
I suggested she consider looking me up on You Tube and see if
some of my videos might help her. The immediate response she gave
was "Oh I go to a really good church." My mind was
thinking, "And how is that working for you." She asked
what this was all about when I suggested checking out the You
Tube channel. I simply said, "It's just me BEING the
church."
She
smiled and showed me a book she was reading that was turned title
side down on the bar. It was about God making you laugh. I
wondered what was in the glass she was drinking, but not
mentioning that, I just let her know that the Lord loves her and
would every broken thing in her heart. She was very grateful.
I
wasn't even going to go to that restaurant that day, but my
husband felt led to suggest it, so we went. The Lord had someone
in mind whom He wanted to touch. He not only touched her, but He
touched me and it reminds me everyday of the only One Who could
bring me out of the bondage and addictions I was once held
captive in.
If
you or someone you know is hurting, the number one best thing you
and I can do is to point them to Jesus Who is our only Healer and
lover of our soul. He can bind up every would and set every
captive free. He alone can do what no pill, bottle, needle or
massive amount of food or other addictions could do. Will you
understand that today? Remember that church gatherings are for a
very good purpose, but they are not the extent of our
relationship with the Lord. That all begins where we are, at home
and in private.
Do
you know how much Jesus loves you? Really?
Blessed
be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of
mercies and the God of all comfort, Who comforts us in all our
tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any
trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted
by God. (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)
