     This is an excerpt from a previous Bible study. I am on a special assignment this week. I trust these notes will encourage you in your journey to let go of anything that has been holding you - other than Jesus. I believe the Lord is sounding the alarm to His beloved children in the last days to return to their First Love – Jesus! He is calling us to let go of all idols and anything in our hearts that exalts itself against Him! He wants to come back and pick us up behaving like real Christians, doing what the Bible tells us to do. He wants us to be serious about this and all the while, we get to do it with joy, love and a lot of fun! Blessing others is a lot of fun! The more we can bless others, the more fun we have. Truly it is more blessed to give than to receive as Jesus once said. And the giving has to start with giving to God. Out of that all other appropriate giving can flow.

      How about you? For me, I have had to let go of all kinds of idols in my life and no, it was not easy. Some of that junk is like pulling out a very deeply embedded weed, under a concrete driveway. But out is has to come. And praise the Lord – He is our Deliverer. He can deliver us anywhere, anytime if we will fully put our trust in Him. Staying in our comfort zone will not cut it. If we know we are doing something we shouldn’t, we should love the Master enough to say, “I’m getting rid of this Lord, right now. You are worth it! I will choose to obey from this time forward and walk into all the blessings that You want to give me.” Jesus is the only comfort zone we can afford to dwell in. Anything else is harlotry and is not acceptable to Him. Let’s pray…

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for showing us in Your word today that we must stay right with You in our hearts at all time. We must get rid of idols, all of them, and get out of the ‘comfort zones’ so You can bless us the way You so deeply desire to. Father, help us to be open to what needs to go from our lives and we will purpose to remove it promptly and trust You with the consequences. Thank You for loving us perfectly at all times and for never leaving or forsaking us. We adore You Abba Father. We will trust in You at all times, our Savior and our God! Emmanuel – You are with us! Thank You Lord! In Jesus name, Amen! 

And God Said:

“Let go of attachments to people. Anything or anyone that you feel strongly attached to is bondage. It is possible to love others without being attached to them. Keep Me as the Apple of your eye. I am your First Love. Let everything else go in your heart. Stay attached to Me. When your idols are gone, then I can really use you to bless others and point them toward Me. I am your Comforter. There is no other. Nothing else will satisfy you like I can. I created you and you are precious to Me. Believe Me. Trust Me. Let go and let Me guide you. I will you know.”
