PRAISE BEFORE MY BREAKTHROUGH

 

Praise Before My Breakthrough But at midnight, Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone's chains were loosed. Acts 16:25-26 I read this earlier in the week and was reminded that throughout the Bible, there were instances where people were facing great trials. They sang and praised the Lord before the victory in the battle. It seems odd to the human mind to give thanks for something we have yet to see. That's how battles are won in God's kingdom. We have real live accounts in the Old and New Testament of this sort of thing. In my time with the Lord this morning, I heard a song called, "Praise Before My Breakthrough" and I knew that would be today's message. Most of us are facing some challenge or another in our lives. This comes as a loving reminder that our best way through it is to praise the Lord for that promise He gave you, that victory in a situation that you are believing for, before it comes to pass. Another thing to remember is that God inhabits the praises of His people. That's exciting! It means He is spiritually involved with us when we are praising Him. Though trials may be tough, we always have the One Who gives us the victory. Let's keep on praising Him and thanking Him until and after we see the victory in the things we need to happen. IS ANY AMONG YOU SICK?

 

Is Anyone Among You Sick? Today I want to encourage you if you or someone you know is sick. The Bible tells us how to pray for ourselves as well as others. Too many times, we rely on others to pray for us. When we are new Christians, that is fine. The faith of the mature Christian can certainly be used to heal the person. Jesus is our Healer and He is available to all who call upon Him. Here is what the Bible says: Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. (James 5:13) As we grow up in Christ, we must remember to run to Jesus and ask Him to heal us. It is easy to run to others and ask them to pray, but if Jesus is our Lord, He is personally available to each one of us to heal us. It's our faith that will heal us - not someone else's. Yes, there is a time to pray for others. For this blog, we are staying with the first point, "Is anyone among you sick?" We must flee from the spiritual roots of the illnesses we face. One thing is idolatry. That means putting anything else in the place of God. Depending on people will not work when we have the Lord as own Lord, Healer and Comforter. Look as this song and listen to it on You Tube. "Christ Be Magnified." When we look to our Father God, He alone is the One Who supplies all our needs. And He supplied all the healing we would ever need through Jesus' Body and Blood. The Bible tells us that by His stripes, we are healed. The Blood is for the remission of sins. His body was broken for us to be healed. One God, One Lord, and one Holy Spirit - all one awesome God. He is the One and only One to whom we need to run to for help and healing. We need to ask the Lord, "What is the spiritual root to this illness, and then deal with that. Once we get the root pulled out, we can be free. Sickness is a stronghold and it must be broken through prayer and faith. Homosexuality in Church Leadership

 

Homosexuality in Church Leadership Friend, we are living in the end time Church, and many are diverting from the truth of scripture. It was heavy on my heart to find out more denominations are allowing homosexuals to become church leaders! This should not be so! If we are to sit under teachers in the sanctuary, they have a higher standard than the rest of us. Here is what the Bible says about leaders' requirements: For this reason I left you in Crete, that you should set in order the things that are lacking and appoint elders in every city as I commanded you— if a man is blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of dissipation or insubordination. For a bishop must be blameless, as a steward of God, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but hospitable, a lover of what is good, sober-minded, just, holy, self-controlled, holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able, by sound doctrine, both to exhort and convict those who contradict. Titus 1:5-9 How can we allow people who are living in the sin of homosexuality teach us about the Word of God? If they approve that which God does not approve, what else might they be teaching that does not line up with the Word of God. Here is just one verse about what the Bible says about homosexuality: If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them. Leviticus 20:13 Friends, if God looks at this so harshly, so shall we. When a homosexual comes to the church, it's our job to teach them in righteousness. Then it's up to them to turn from their wicked way and be saved. They, like all of us, have the opportunity to repent and turn to Jesus and receive Him as their Lord and Savior. Let us keep this in mind as we consider what church we are sitting in, what they are demonstrating by their behavior, and are they teaching in line with the Word of God. Our assembly must not be just a social gathering for fun and fellowship. The purpose of church fellowship is to be built up in godliness. It should be changing us to be more like Jesus. I know this isn't a warm and fuzzy message this week, but it must be preached. If we want to be all that God created us to be, we must be trained in holiness and righteousness, just as Jesus taught. We must not be in agreement with these things that are an abomination to the Lord our God. Thank you for considering this message and how it can impact your life and the lives of those around you. Preaching the True Gospel of Repentance This week as I progress through a series on repentance, we are looking at the ways in which many of us share the gospel. Many like to keep it soft, telling people about God's love and grace, and yet not telling folks that what is needed when we lead them to salvation in Jesus is a repentant heart. The Bible tells us this: For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death. 2 Cor. 7:10 Many have been led to Jesus but not discipled into a life of full devotion. Many people sitting in churches today think they are ok but have never truly repented of their sin and become born again. With so much darkness and deception in the world today, it is super important that we tell people the truth about how to turn from their sin and receive Jesus as Lord. In addition to leading them to salvation, we must make sure they have a way of getting discipled. If they do not get taught about the things of God, they will not stick with the commitment they originally made. Let this be a wake up call to all of us that we need to lead a repentant lifestyle before the Lord, being quick to repent of our sins, and then being faithful to preach the truth about heaven and hell, and how people need Jesus to save them so they can go to heaven. Let this be an encouragement to you. May it help you remember to preach the real gospel, not a soft, candy-coated, watered-down version of how to get saved. When God Sends You a Rainbow

When God Sends You a Rainbow

Maybe you need some encouragement right now. Or maybe you are just in a mountain top season in life when all seems to be going well. In every life, there comes a time when we need to be encouraged. This week, I needed that and at the right moment, I looked up and saw a beautiful complete rainbow!

When we look at the many ways that the Lord tries to say, "Hey, I love you! I am with you and I am for you," we just have to pause in awe of Him and say a heartfelt thank you.

I had an opportunity to encourage someone this week who just felt like giving up. My heart cried out to the Lord for this person and I asked God to help. And He did. This person stayed the course and is continuing on in their journey! It brought me to tears as I reached out to encourage this person and pray over him.

I know what it's like when the challenges come and the work seems hard, so when I got the rainbow this week, I knew my greatest encourager, the Lord, was speaking to me. Then, out of that, I was given the opportunity to share that encouragement with this person.

I will keep this shorter, so you can read it and share it with others. Here is what God says,

Fear not, I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you. I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

Let this Word of God comfort and encourage you today.
