The 3rd John 2 Program - Real Healing from Food & Sugar Addiction for God's People - Week 8 - Willing & Obedient Part 1 Feb. 20 2018

Willing and Obedient Part 1 of 2

Isaiah 1:19

If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land.

My Experience, Strength & Hope

In this message, the Lord is leading me to talk about willingness. I have some experience in the area of unwillingness, how about you? It is a fact of human life since the fall of man that people have been unwilling to obey the Lord or follow after His precepts – teachings, directions, etc. Why is this? For people who are Christians especially, why is it so hard to be willing? Why do we go to church and sing all these songs about surrendering our lives to the Lord and trusting Him, only to go right home and keep doing things the same old, ungodly, fleshy and unproductive way?

This is something I have dealt with myself, so I understand just a little something (OK, maybe more than a little – LOL!) about it. The answer is twofold really. First, it has to do with fear. If we do things God’s way, we fear that letting go completely of what we have been treasuring as our pacifier for so long. We fear the fact that it may cause us great discomfort. Most of us are not willing to be one bit uncomfortable. And even though walking in addiction is quite uncomfortable at best, in the end, we seem to think it will help us more than the one true God that we say we trust in so much.

The other issue is the desires of the flesh. We like certain things and we are not willing to give them up. While we are in public or at church we can pretend all day long to be a good Christian and say we love the Lord. But when we  leave the public eye, there are more than one set of eyes watching what we do privately – the Lord’s eyes are on us every moment. Not only does He see what we are doing, He sees down into the depth of our hearts. He asks so little of us, yet many are simply not willing to sacrifice anything. They do not want to give up their ‘floaty’ or ‘pacifier’. They do not want to stop eating this or drinking that. They choose the quick high rather than the everlasting peace that can take us higher than anything on this earth ever could. There is no ‘high’ like the Most High!

To be willing is the single most important first step to take in the verse from Isaiah chapter one. I believe that is why the Lord put the word  ‘willing’ first. Because if we are not willing, then we will certainly never become obedient. Also, a willing heart makes for a hearing ear. Ok, so how has this played out in my life? Well, several years ago the Lord gave me a food  plan to follow to keep my weight at a healthy level. He wanted me to be strong and healthy so I could do the hard work He is calling me to do in ministry. He also wants others to see His power perfected in my weakness.

But did I struggle with unwillingness? I sure did. Yet, as I continued to follow after the Master, He continued to correct, discipline, comfort and love me unconditionally. He continued to encourage me through His word and His Spirit to do the right thing. There were days after I was corrected when I would straighten up and do the right thing – much like a little child who just received a spanking. But then as time went on, I would gradually start to slide backwards again, and again, and again.

So how does a heart become willing? What can take away our stony heart (hard heart toward God) and make it a heart of flesh (soft and pliable)? Only His Holy Spirit can as we wash our minds, or renew them in His presence and in His word constantly. I can tell you for certain that if I was not spending time with the Lord in personal prayer, sitting under really high quality godly teaching, reading His word and speaking it out loud over myself every day, I would not be where I am today.

I have really struggled with this whole idea of willingness. But the Lord looks at that as rebellion and pride. After all, those are the characteristics of the devil. It was those types of attitudes that got Lucifer and 1/3 of the angels thrown out of heaven - pride and rebellion. God hates pride. It should not even be a word we use in our conversation. Any pride is bad. For example, the Father never used the word ‘proud’ when He talked about His Son. No, instead He said He was well pleased with His Son. We would do well to follow the Lord’s example. Amen.

The bottom line is this. Are you and I really in for working out our salvation by being willing to do things God’s way? Are we willing to give up a few COMFORTS IN THIS LIFE TO FOLLOW AFTER THE MASTER so we could hear Him one day say to us, “Well done, good and faithful servant!” (BTW: I didn’t intend to type that in all caps, but I just heard the Lord tell me to leave it like that.) Ok Lord – You got it!

The choice is always up to us. Every single moment of every day, the Lord is looking for people who are willing to make the sacrifice and give up some of the pleasures of this life to live the kingdom life and bear fruit that will last forever. Ho-Ho’s and ice cream do nothing but steal, kill and destroy. So do pills and alcohol, cocaine, heroin, busyness, and all other types of ungodly behaviors. I know because I have engaged in most of them. I never felt good afterwards either. I felt like a piece of trash.

Conversely, when I spend time with the Lord and do things His way, I always come away feeling good. I feel stronger, encouraged and deeply loved. What a deal! Do you want that too? You can have it. It is yours for the taking. You can choose to take it right now. Exchange the devil’s attitude of unwillingness for the Lord’s attitude of humility and willingness to do things His way. Then be prepared to sit back and watch how God will show up in your every weakness in every area of your life to give you the abundant life your heart truly longs for.

You will not be disappointed – I assure you. God is faithful!

Scriptures from This Message…

John 8:44

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

1 Samuel 15:23

For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

Psalm 95:8

Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness.

Proverbs 8:13

The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

Proverbs 16:18

Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Look at Romans 6 – The desires of the flesh

Romans 7:13-25 (Paul’s discussion about the battles between the flesh and the spirit man)

Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: but I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Matthew 26:41

Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Exodus 35:4-10, 20-22

And Moses spake unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, This is the thing which the Lord commanded, saying, Take ye from among you an offering unto the Lord: whosoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of the Lord; gold, and silver, and brass, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats' hair, and rams' skins dyed red, and badgers' skins, and shittim wood, and oil for the light, and spices for anointing oil,
and for the sweet incense, and onyx stones, and stones to be set for the ephod, and for the breastplate.
And every wise hearted among you shall come, and make all that the Lord hath commanded. And all the congregation of the children of Israel departed from the presence of Moses.

And they came, every one whose heart stirred him up, and every one whom his spirit made willing, and they brought the Lord's offering to the work of the tabernacle of the congregation, and for all his service, and for the holy garments. And they came, both men and women, as many as were willing hearted, and brought bracelets, and earrings, and rings, and tablets, all jewels of gold: and every man that offered offered an offering of gold unto the Lord.

Luke 13:34

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!

Matthew 22:1-14

And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said, The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son, and sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.

Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage. But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise: and the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.

But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city. Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.

Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage. So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.

And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: and he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. For many are called, but few are chosen.

John 5:39-40

Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

Ezekiel 36:26

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

Psalm 73:26

My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

John 6:38

For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

Matthew 16:24

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

James 3:17

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

2 Corinthians 9:7

Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Thoughts for the Coming Week:

·         Take some time this week to search your heart. Are there areas of unwillingness that you can clearly identify?

·         As you search the deep matters within you, be honest about things you have been afraid of. Bring them out into the light and allow the Lord to shine His light on those fears and watch them melt away.

·         Identify the areas where you have been in the habit of gratifying the flesh and how it has caused you damage in your spirit, soul and body.

·         Make a list of things you are going to be willing to do to change any wrong behaviors. Take it to the Lord in prayer.

·         Think about the Lord’s correction as a form of His love. It is never to condemn, but it is always to bring you up higher for your good. Are you willing to allow Him to correct you?

·         Will you trust in His Spirit within you to change the desires of your heart from hardness to willingness. Write it down. Pray about it.

·         What are you willing to give up to follow Jesus and step into the destiny that He has planned for you?

·         At the end of this week and before the next message, take some time to look at how you have grown since starting this program. Thank the Lord for working in you to bring out your best for His glory, your good and the blessing of others that He wants to touch through you.

The 3rd John 2 Program - Real Healing from Food Addiction for God's People - Week 7 Songs of Deliverance

Songs of Deliverance

Psalm 32:6-7

For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him. Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.

My Experience, Strength & Hope

Have you ever really thought about what this pair of verses is saying? What does it mean to seek God when He can be found? What do the flood waters represent? And how does He hide us, preserve us and surround us with songs of deliverance?

These are all very good questions, and important ones too. We actually discover them through our experiences in life. The scriptures are not just to be read with our physical eyes only and skimmed over lightly. They are not to be memorized in our intellect without applying the deep meaning they are meant to provide. Rather, they are to be absorbed deep into our soul and spirit. They are to be experienced and practiced, as the case may be in a given situation. All of them can be applied to what we go through in our very real day to day lives. How so you ask?

The morning I wrote this, I got up at 5:00am and started my day. I thought I had had a good night of sleep. I had no reason to feel tired. But as I began to move through the morning I felt like I was very tired, like a person feels when they did not sleep well. My husband noticed and I told him I was tired but didn’t know why.

After he left for work, I began to pray and worship the Lord, and I fell into a flood (there’s the flood part) of tears. I had gone to bed with a joyful heart the previous night and woke with this song that morning: “Love Lifted Me.” This was a song of deliverance for me that day. Why did I need to be lifted if I went to bed full of joy? As I continued in prayer and the tears came, Holy Spirit showed me the reason for those tears.

As I was seeking the Lord that morning (seeking Him while He may be found) and not waiting till later when I would have missed the opportunity, He was able to reveal what was in my heart. It was as if He were answering the prayer I had prayed for a previous Bible study in Psalm 32. When I opened my little scripture card box, I pulled out a verse at random and it had two verses that I will share in this lesson! They spoke directly to me. There’s no coincidence with God. I experience stuff like this every single day at my house! God is so awesome.

Though I didn’t think anything was bothering me, the Lord revealed something that was. As I sat down to listen to Him, He spoke to my heart. As I cried it out before Him He reminded me to cast the care of it onto Him – so I did, right then and there. I literally put my hands up toward heaven and gave the concern to Him. He said He would help me and I responded by telling Him that I believe Him and thanked Him for it.

He showed me how to handle the situation in the meantime and then assured me that He is my Comforter and I can lavish my love upon Him all I want. Even when others will not accept our love and affection – Jesus is ready and willing to at all times. And He wants to lavish us with His love as well.

As far as the songs go, it is really multi-faceted. He can bring songs to our spirit that will lift us and deliver us from whatever has been hurting us. The music will reach down deep into our soul right where the pain is located. That alone is so wonderful. And, another way we get the deliverance is by singing the songs we are led to sing in our spirit. He works the deliverance through a song. You may know exactly what I am talking about.

I believe the important thing to share with you in this is that no matter what is rising up in the way of a flood – emotions or concerns, He will hide you (and me) in His safe shelter. He will deliver us from all fears, worries or concerns as we cast our cares on to Him. Then we get the inexpressible joy of going through our day in perfect peace knowing He is making us to dwell (live in) safety. Praise His name forever. We can let go of whatever is eating at us so we don’t run to something like food, alcohol or drugs which cannot satisfy and only bring us despair at the bottom of the cookie jar or bottle.

He really does give us what He promised in His word. All of His promises are “yes and amen” – see 2 Corinthians 1:20. We just have to apply His word by faith and reach out and receive it by faith. By faith we stand! We do not have to see it, smell it or be able to touch it in order for it to be real. God’s presence, His word and His love works when we apply it to our lives by faith. It is all about faith. And when we respond to His question, “Do you believe this?” we can say, “Yes, Lord, I do!” Though we must die to our flesh (every day), we can know that He is the resurrection of our spirits and He is our life, hope and help forever – hallelujah!

Friend, my prayer and heart’s desire is that first and foremost you allow God’s word to work for you in your life so you can experience all the victory that He has for you. And lastly, I pray that my experiences that I share with you will be used of the Lord to help you understand what it really means to apply His word to your own life. We are all learning and growing every day of our lives. Someone once said, and I firmly believe it – “If we stop learning, we have stopped living.” Go ahead! His songs will deliver you! Our God is a mighty Deliverer!

Scriptures from This Message…

Take a look at just a few examples of how God has delivered His people in perilous times…

·         Noah’s deliverance from the flood

·         Israel’s deliverance from the Egyptians and bondage

·         Israel’s deliverance from the Philistines (Goliath)

·         David delivered from the hand of King Saul

·         Israel delivered through Esther – a woman of great courage

·         Through Nehemiah, God’s people were delivered from the enemy so they could rebuild the   wall

·         The town of Nineveh was delivered through Jonah (when he stopped rebelling against the Lord!) I can relate to this.

·        Paul was delivered numerous times from the hand of the enemy while he was out there preaching the gospel – these are just a few of many such stories in the Bible

Philippians 1:19-21

For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, according to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

Isaiah 43:1-2

But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

Psalm 27:5

For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

Acts 16:25

And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

Ephesians 5:17-21

Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.

How do we cast our cares upon the Lord? Hand em over saints, just hand em over! This is a “stick up!” LOL! Stick your hands up toward heaven and say, here You go Lord, I’m giving this stuff to You - I can’t handle it.”

1 Peter 5:7

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

2 Corinthians 1:20

For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

Now It’s Your Turn – Answer the Following Questions:

·         Are you seeking God about things that are bothering you?

·         Will you allow the tears to come when they need to and remember that the Lord will not let the floods in this life overtake you?

·         Will you trust Him now more than ever to hide you and preserve you from trouble as you delight yourself in Him?

·         Do you know in your heart that Jesus has already bought and paid for your deliverance? That’s right. All you have to do is receive it by faith.

·         Allow your words and your songs to line up with Holy Spirit and the word of God and the deliverance will come. The peace will come. The trouble will fade away. Finally, the joy will come.

·         Read Isaiah 61 this week and meditate on it along with the scriptures provided in this lesson.

·         Write your thoughts and revelations about this week’s message.

·         How do you see it changing your thinking?

·         What will you do differently because of what you learned?

The 3rd John 2 Program - Real Healing for God's People - Week 6 Agreeing to Walk With Jesus

Agreeing to Walk with Jesus

Amos 3:3

Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

My Experience, Strength & Hope

This little verse packs a great big punch right where it counts. What does it really mean to walk with Jesus? Some spend a lifetime without ever finding out the true meaning of a faithful walk with the Master. Many walk this life on their own even after asking Jesus to be their Savior. Many do not really want Him to be their Lord. In this discussion, He is asking us to see what it means to walk with Him; meaning to agree with Him.

We cannot walk with anyone or do anything with another person unless we both agree, right? For example, if someone asks us to go to the mission field to do a project, we have the choice of whether to accept or reject the offer. It is no different with the Lord. That’s why He put this in the scriptures for us. To walk with Him means to agree to do things His way, not ours.

As a person who was formerly addicted to many things, I have seen Him bring this verse to me a number of times when I chose to give in to the cravings of my flesh and eat out of control. He showed me over and over that I have to agree with Him and put my flesh under. He will not force us – we must agree. Remember, the Lord never forces anyone to do anything. He gets things done in the earth according to His overall plan by going to the people who will listen and obey. He has to pass by those who refuse to lay their lives down for His cause. They will be left on the sidelines and miss their rewards, while someone else gets their reward for not only their efforts, but for picking up another man’s slack.

It does not make the Lord happy to leave us on the sidelines. He wants us ‘all in’ on this journey in this life. He is behind us all the way. He is a winner and He wants us to live like winners too – in every area of our lives. Since I was addicted to food, and more specifically sugar, I will use food as the example in this discussion. But, whatever you have struggled with, you can simply place the word for it where I have mentioned food.

For me, agreeing to walk with Jesus is to agree to eat a certain way. I can no longer eat sugar unless it comes in the form of fresh fruit. That includes stevia alone or that which is placed in foods. I cannot add it to my coffee alternative or anything else for that matter. These are His rules. Why? Because He knows that anything that tastes real sweet will cause me to crave more sweet stuff and could easily pull me back into bondage like I once was – out of control and desperate.

I couldn’t walk away from the sugar on my own. I was 100% completely addicted to it, like a drug addict or alcoholic. I needed help or else it would have killed me. The Lord has given me encouragement in His presence and His word daily. He has given me specific instructions that He wants me to abide by to keep the flesh under so I can submit to the leading of Holy Spirit. If I agree, we are in the journey together; walking and running successfully throughout each day.

If I don’t agree, He would have allowed me to wallow in my addiction, but He would not be pleased. He would have to pass me by. He would have to leave me sitting on the bench while I stuffed my mouth with ice cream and ho-ho’s, and move on to someone who is willing to walk with Him and do His work. But I don’t want that! I don’t want to miss out on the wonderful, abundant and prosperous life that He has planned for me. I don’t want to miss out on my rewards! I don’t want to live my life serving idols which are an abomination to the Lord. I want to spend my days by being obedient and living in prosperity.

A lot of folks out there do not want to give up their worldly comfort zone; the food, or whatever they are using to pacify themselves. They are happy to remain in their misery and just accept the status quo. They are willing to accept a broken-down body and spend all their cash on running to the Dr. and swallowing pills that are only making them worse, rather than investing those same dollars in keeping their bodies healthy and building the kingdom of God here on earth. It is so SADD-U-CEE!

But that’s not you and me, is it friend? No, we want to agree to live a holy life and walk with Jesus. We agree that to walk with Him means to put the flesh under every single day. I could go on for hours about the things the Lord has shown me over the past several years as He has helped me to walk away from false gods that could not comfort or heal me into the loving arms of the only Healer and Comforter there is – Jesus Christ, the Son of the Most High God.

I want to be used to encourage others. If you will agree to do things His way and trust Him – I mean really trust Him just one day, one moment at a time - if you will apply His word by saying it out loud in faith over your life every single day, then you will get the results your heart desires. You will get the victory. It is a one day at a time walk. We can’t walk in tomorrow – it isn’t here yet. In fact, tomorrow never comes. We are always and only in today, every minute of each day.

So why not enjoy today and trust in the all-powerful Savior who can strengthen you to make the right choices? Why not listen to His voice and obey what He tells you? By doing this you will see real miracles unfold in your life - I promise. Applying God’s word to your life – by faith really works. It cannot fail.

Scriptures from This Message…

Matthew 11:29

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

John 15:14-15

Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

John 6:22-69 (Read the Verses) Jesus teaching on His body and blood and then focus on verse 66. Many turned and no longer wanted to walk with Him because they thought His teachings were too hard.

Jeremiah 29:11 (CJB)

For I know what plans I have in mind for you,’ says Adonai, ‘plans for well-being, not for bad things; so that you can have hope and a future.

Philippians 2:13

For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Job 36:11

If they obey and serve Him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

John 10:10

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Deuteronomy 30:11-20 (NKJV)

“For this commandment which I command you today is not too mysterious for you, nor is it far off.  It is not in heaven, that you should say, ‘Who will ascend into heaven for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’ Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, ‘Who will go over the sea for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’ But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it.

“See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil,  in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess. But if your heart turns away so that you do not hear, and are drawn away, and worship other gods and serve them, I announce to you today that you shall surely perish; you shall not prolong your days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to go in and possess. I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;  that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”

Important Points to Digest:

·         Agree to walk with Jesus – do things His way.

·         Live a holy life according to the scriptures.

·         Put the flesh and its desires under control – practice self-control every day.

·         Turn to God for comfort – not pacifiers, aka. false gods/idols.

·         Be willing and obedient – do what He tells you to do.
