“Multiplying
God’s Word Around the Globe”
Chapter Reading
for Today: Please read in
your Bible before proceeding. Note that most translations are considered
paraphrases. The Young’s Literal Translation provides a more accurate
translation since he is the one who authored a concordance. Others are helpful
for seeing a different perspective, but we cannot always depend on their
wording. I trust this is helpful to you. If you are studying in another
version, that is fine. I am studying from the KJV.
***Please
note a change! We will look at everything for our basic study from the King
James Version going forward. It is helpful to stay with one solid version as we
study so as not to cause confusion. I may add other translations for specific
scriptures as the Lord directs.
One final note: I will put the scripture in italics to differentiate from my
own writing. I am adding red to the letters when
it is Jesus talking – just like the Bible. Thank you.
Bible Gateway Verse of the Day
Job 37:5-6
God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great
things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend. For he saith to the snow, Be thou
on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength.
Psalm 97
Rejoice in The Lord Always!
Truly our God is worth rejoicing about, isn’t He saints?
Hallelujah! The righteous indeed rejoice and are glad. Even the heavens declare
His glory. The heavens show signs of rejoicing and the earth does too! Let’s
pray…
Heavenly Father:
Thank You for who You are! Your attributes, clearly seen
throughout Your word and certainly in this chapter are worth rejoicing about
for the Christian person. Thank You for being good all the time. Thank You for
being faithful and for always dwelling in righteousness. Everything about You
is good. Father, I ask You to give me the anointing and utterance to bring Your
word today to Your church with boldness, accuracy and excellence. Make it to go
out unhindered and unchecked by any outside force or my flesh. Lord, help our
hearts to be lifted higher as we exalt You therein today. Bring us up closer to
the place where Your glory dwells. Make us a people who are always glad of
heart and rejoicing in God our Savior. You alone are worthy of all our praise.
I ask You to use this to touch people all over the world – those who will not
only hear it, but take it to heart. Help them know who they can share it with.
Multiply Your word among Your people through this lesson. Thank You for always
watching over Your word to perform it in our lives when we obey what You tell
us to do. Thank You for helping us by the power of Holy Spirit to be doers of
Your holy word and not forgetful hearers. Thank You for what this word will do
to us. We believe we receive revelation light from it to illuminate our souls.
Thank You in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
We see so much here about our great God and King in this
chapter, don’t we? We see Him as our righteous Judge. He is a consuming fire,
and He is powerful. Nothing can withstand His awesome presence - but melts like
wax before Him. His glory is revealed in the heavens and the earth. We see the
signs in the heavens as they declare the glory of God. No one can deny how very
real, big and powerful He is. Only those who worship false gods are perplexed
and confused by the things going on all around us that reveal the truth that
our God is real and He reigns.
Just yesterday we had a presidential election in the United
States. Hillary Clinton was favored to win, but God’s people had been praying
intensely at His promptings. At the end of the day, people stood in awe that a
man with no political background won the election as if there were barely an
opponent. His name is Donald Trump. It was the sovereignty of our God. And the
world – those who worship other gods are standing confused and dumbfounded
today at what they saw happen in this election. Our God reigns. He will get His
purpose accomplished in the earth, one way or another. When the righteous see these
things happening, they are glad and rejoicing. Hallelujah!
The Lord is seen in this chapter as the One who preserves our
souls. How many know that our souls need a lot of help? Let’s look at a few of
the good things the Lord does for the Christian’s soul…
Psalm 23:3
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for
his name's sake.
Psalm 25:12-13
12 What man is he that feareth the Lord? him shall he teach in the way that
he shall choose.
13 His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall
inherit the earth.
Psalm 34:22
The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them
that trust in him shall be desolate.
Psalm 35:9
And my soul shall be joyful in the Lord: it shall rejoice in his salvation.
Psalm 55:18
He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me:
for there were many with me.
Psalm 63:5
My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness;
and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:
Psalm 71:23
My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto
thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed.
Psalm 72:13
He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.
Psalm 107:9
For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.
Psalm 138:3
In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and
strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.
Proverbs
10:3
The Lord will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he
casteth away the substance of the wicked.
How is that for some reasons to rejoice in the
Lord? Hallelujah! He is so good to those who are of a right heart in Him. That
is worth shouting about saints! Our mind, will and emotions need the Lord to
make us to be glad. Without Him we would be like a freight train headed for a
brick wall. He is so good to His children. He wants you to be encouraged today.
He wants your soul to consider the many ways He causes you to rejoice and be
glad in Him. He wants to comfort you and cause you to come aside and rest in
Him right now…
Mark 6:31
And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming
and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
How many know we just need to
take the time to rest in Him? To come aside with Him for a while and receive His
love, His comfort and His peace? Life is plenty busy. We all have duties and
responsibilities that must be done. The Lord knows that. He had plenty to do
while He was here on the earth. But our human soul needs rest in Him. We need
time to just rejoice in Him – who He is and all that He is to us.
God is seen in this chapter as our Deliverer. He rescues us
from evil…
Matthew 6:13
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the
glory, for ever. Amen.
That is
very comforting for our souls, isn’t it? And, the Lord gives us light in His
presence and in His word. He brings light to every situation we face and every
question we have…
Psalm 119:130
The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the
simple.
The Lord’s holiness, (purity)
is cause for everyone to celebrate – amen. We have a great, holy and perfect
God, the One true God above all gods – hallelujah. Our purpose is to rejoice in
the Lord at all times. Today, won’t you take a few moments to rejoice in the
Lord and rest in Him? He is waiting for you.
There are three main points to
consider from today’s study…
All of heaven and earth rejoice in
the Lord
God’s glory is revealed in His
righteous judgments
There is always cause for our souls
to rejoice in God our Savior
Questions:
What encouraged you the most in this lesson?
What attributes (characteristics) about God do you appreciate
the most and why?
List some of the reasons that you personally rejoice in the
Lord?
Who can you share this study with?
Are
you rejoicing in the Lord at all times?
Let’s pray…
Heavenly Father:
Thank You for giving me a reason to rejoice and
be glad at every moment in my life, no matter what is going on around me. Help
me to draw aside with You and rest awhile in Your presence where there is
fullness of joy. Show me what I need to see by shedding Your powerful light on
my soul. Expose any darkness and heal me Lord that I may be healed. Deliver me
from mine enemies and I will be glad. Bring me closer to You Lord. Thank You,
Sir, in the wonderful name of Jesus. Amen.
And God Said… You fill in the blanks.
Philippians 4:4
Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.
