For as many as
are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. (Romans 8:14)
Song: Jesus Be The Center of Your
Church
Have
you ever felt like no matter how hard you try to get a breakthrough,
you can't seem to get it? Today God wants to remind us that it is not
by might or power, but it is by His Spirit that every obstacle to
your freedom has already been provided. Feeling stressed out and
heavy laden? Look to Jesus. He will always make a way. Let's look at
what the Word of God has to say about all this and get free from all
"yokes of bondage."
Old
Testament - Rules, burdens, self effort....
“I
removed his shoulder from the burden; His hands were freed from the
baskets. (Psalm 81:6)
Back in
those days, the Israelites were in heavy bondage in Egypt. But God
already had a plan to set them free. No one can love a hard driving
task master. We can love a merciful and kind Savior Who leads us on
the ancient path of uprightness.
‘For
it shall come to pass in that day,’ says the Lord of hosts, ‘That I
will break his yoke from your neck, and will burst your bonds;
foreigners shall no more enslave them. (Jer. 30:8)
Thus
says the Lord: “Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths,
where the good way is, and walk in it; then you will find rest for
your souls. (Jer.
6:16)
Come
to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you
rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and
lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. (Matt.
11:28-29)
Stand
fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and
do not be entangled again by a yoke of bondage. (Galatians 5:1)
Now
therefore, why do you test God by putting a yoke on the neck of the
disciples which neither our fathers nor we are able to bear? (Acts 15:10)
And
this occurred because of false brethren secretly brought in (who came
in by stealth to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus,
that they might bring us into bondage? (Gal. 2:4)
Today,
Jesus is calling the church that He died to save to keep Him as the
center. Remove bondage, distractions, and be led by Holy Spirit. That
is where we will find real peace, a sense of joy and contentment. Let
Jesus be the center. Let Him lead by His Spirit. Salvation brings rest.
