God is Only Good & Wants Us To Be Prosperous As We Live For Him!
Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to
Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the
birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every
creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in
His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and
female He created them. Then God blessed them,
and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth
and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of
the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields
seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose
fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. Also,
to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to
everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I
have given every green herb for food”; and it was so. Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it
was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day. (Gen. 1:26-28,
31)
Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in
gold. (Gen. 13:2)
God wanted to provide more than enough for him to
do all was calling him to do.
God is only good and all He wants and thinks for
us is good all the time. If things aren’t going right in our life, it’s either
our own fault or something from the devil. We know that when we live for Jesus,
the devil will see it and try to cause problems, but that should only cause us
to depend on our heavenly Father more.
As we yield to the Lord and resist the devil in
all his ways, the Lord will help us. We may not do it all right, but if our
hearts are right and we long to please the Lord, He will help us make every
wrong thing right.
Look at how He thinks of us all the time, never
changing…
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only
begotten Son, that
whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world
to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
And He started all that with Abraham. He called
him, blessed him, prospered him, led him, fed him, loved him and used him and
Sarah to start a revival in the earth that would never end! That’s how good our
God is. So why do so many people say bad things about children of God who
happen to believe in this?
God came to give us His best. This is how He
thinks about us…
Jeremiah 29:10-14
For thus says the Lord: After seventy years are completed at Babylon, I will
visit you and perform My good word toward you, and cause you to return to
this place. For
I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and
a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and
pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when
you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will
gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven
you, says the Lord, and I
will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive.
The people didn’t live right before the Lord, so
they ended up in bondage, but God, who is rich in mercy, that while we were in
our sins, Christ died for us though we certainly didn’t deserve it, couldn’t
earn it and would never be able to save ourselves by anything we ever did…
Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
That’s love and in that, there is prosperity.
That’s God’s will for us all. We don’t have to wonder….
3 John 2
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all
things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
Prosperity is in every area of our lives. It’s in
our family and business relationships, it’s in our finances, and it’s in our
physical health, as we follow the guidelines that the Lord laid out for us in
His Word. So when people ridicule us for believing God and what He said in His
Word, we just need to pray that they will get born again. Only then will they
really believe God is that good.
Look at how the Lord brought forth a two-fold blessing and prophesied to the disciples about what He would do for them in order to make them prosperous as they went about following Him to win souls for the kingdom of God…
Luke 5:1-11
So it was, as the multitude pressed about Him to hear the word of God, that He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret, and saw two boats standing by the lake; but the fishermen had gone from them and were washing their nets. Then He got into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat. When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”
But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!”
For he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch
of fish which they had taken; and so
also were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with
Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid. From now
on you will catch men.” So when they had brought their boats to land, they forsook all and followed Him.
Because they offered Jesus what they had so He could teach the
people, He was showing them by fishing of the right side of the boat, in other
words, like He was saying, “When you do My kind of fishing, you will have all
you need and more so you can go out and preach the kingdom of God to catch many
fish, aka, souls! Glory!
This is God’s will for all of us, not just a few. The only
difference is how He will have you and I do it. Many will work in the
marketplace and the Lord will use that a platform to draw people to Him. Others
will be called to just preach in the pulpit, and the Lord will provide abundantly
for all who step out to fulfill their individual God given calling.
Here is another verse about His will and His goodness…
Mark 16:15-18
And He said to them, “Go into
all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who
believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will
follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will
speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it
will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
Does anyone think that our Father in heaven Who
owns the cattle on a thousand hills, and Who says, “the earth is Mine in all its
fullness, will not give us everything we need to do what He created us to do?
Go back to Genesis, and look again at all He
provided for us so we would have all we need, and the best part of all of that
is to have fellowship with Him each day as we enjoy His blessings and are so
thankful about what He has done for us.
We need to look at how He said, “I will be a
Father to you.” We need to look at His promise to be with us always and never
leave or forsake us. We need to remember that He said I have loved you with an
everlasting love and that His mercy that triumphs over judgment, is brand new
every morning. Oh great if His faithfulness to us who call upon Him.
He created us to love Him and to love people. To
be fruitful and multiply! Just like the Fish n Loaves!
