God Helps Us Through It All

Standing In The Best & Worst of Times     If you have ever been to the top of a mountain, you know how exhilarating it can be! Conversely, if you have ever walked through a valley in the mountains, and you look around at all those towering hills around you, it can seem a bit overwhelming.  The same is true on a spiritual level. It is so lovely to be on the mountain with Jesus. What a wonderful place it is - when it feels like one is living in heaven right here on earth and all seems to be well. No wonder Peter wanted to build a place for them to stay when they were on the mountain with Jesus and saw Him transformed. Those times are both necessary and have a place in and throughout our lives.  When we walk through a valley experience, it can be difficult to say the least, and as Jesus promised,  "In this world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." John 16:33  Peter is a wonderful example in this message. He saw the best of times with Jesus, and he had the experience of the trials and tribulations as he laid his life down to preach the gospel to a hurting world.  Whatever you may be going through right now in this season, know this. God our Father in heaven who is filled with love for us beyond our comprehension, is right here with each of us to hold us up and keep us moving forward.  Now to Him Who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to God our Savior, Who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forevermore. Amen. Jude 24-25  We want to encourage you dear friend to remember that God is for us and no weapon formed against us will prosper, and we are the children of the Most High God. What Are You Focusing On?

Perfect Peace     Today we are looking at Perfect Peace. Wouldn't you like to have that every day? I know I would. Here's the verse and the focus from God's Word...  You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. (Isaiah 26:3)  As I looked at this verse yesterday, I saw three major things jump out:  Focus on God  Results in Peace  Due to our Trust in Him  Here is the Amplified Version:  “You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both [inclination and character], Because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation].  The #1 thing to ask ourselves is what are we really focusing on? I'm speaking from some serious experience here! I know the challenge of overcoming our thinking and fighting against those pesky thoughts that try to discourage and disappoint. If we have to train our minds to meditate on the Word of God 1,000 times a day, let's press on to get there until we drown out the noise of the enemy! No battle is as big as God! He is our strength. He made the world and all it contains. Nothing is to hard for Him!  There is a great song on You Tube that says as the Bible tells us, He is an Almighty Fortress. Nothing can stand against the power of our God.  If we truly are trusting in Him to be Who He says He is and able to do what He says He can do, then we really will experience a peace that would make people wonder how we can be so peaceful. I once heard a pastor we know say that people said that he was so peaceful they thought he was nearly asleep!  The picture in this message is our puppy, Jesse. He is in my arms during morning prayer time. He is completely peaceful. He is usually like that, unless he sees something fun to get him moving around. But even then, Jesse knows he has nothing to worry about. He knows that he will always be lovingly taken care of and provided for without fail.  As children of God we are given this Book of Life by our faithful Creator to have something to help us in the every day life. Finally, this verse also confirms what Isaiah the prophet was led to say....  Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours]. (Phil. 4:6-7) AMP  These messages are meant to be rather short, but exceedingly powerful as a wonderful reminder that our help comes from the Lord in every situation. It's like God is saying, "I gave You the solution, now what are you going to do with it?" Will you accept it and act on it. Helping People Get Free

Set Free to Help Others Get Free     This week I studied about the time when Paul and Silas were thrown into prison for preaching the gospel. Many of you know the story. They were there at midnight just singing and praising the Lord. They didn't care how rough the situation may have looked - they just kept their eyes on the Lord. All of a sudden there was an earthquake and the doors flew open!  They could have run for their lives. Instead they stayed right there and saved the jailer's life, and his entire family. See Acts 16.   On the contrary, look at what happened when Peter was in prison. Things weren't looking to good for him either. But he also chose to praise the Lord in his own special way. What was that? He went to sleep. Kind of like Jesus sleeping in the boat. See Mark 4. He chose to give his cares to the Lord and went to sleep.   Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared to set him free! The goal was to get him outta there because God had other places for him to go preach the gospel. See Acts 12.  When I got set free, the Lord called me to leave Michigan and come to Florida. Sort of like Abraham. See Hebrews 11:8. It was really hard, but I went where He led me. He not only wanted to set me free from whatever things I was dealing with, but He had a plan of where He wanted me to go so I could continue my healing process and become equipped to help others in this region, and eventually around the globe.   Our lives are not our own. We belong to the Lord as born-again children of God. That means some of us may be called to stay where we were located and be informed to go around our own home town and tell others what God has done for us - see John 4 about the Samaritan women. Others will be like Paul, or me, who were called to go somewhere far from home to help others get set free by our testimony.   The bottom line is, where has God called you to go and tell what He has done in your life? Are you paying attention to this calling? Remember, our victories will help others get victory as well.   My Psalm that the Lord gave me to describe my journey:   I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, nd set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth—Praise to our God; many will see it and fear, and will trust in the Lord. (Psalm 40:1-3)  Have a wonderful week and always let us know how we can be praying for or with you!   This blog is reaching people all over the world!
